A letter from Intelligena LLC
About Us
Dear future scientists and engineers,
Somewhere right now, a kid is taking a radio apart just to see how it works. Another is sketching a robot in the margin of a maths worksheet. Another is wondering why code that looks right still refuses to run. If that sounds like you, this letter is for you.
We are Intelligena LLC, a small California company that builds software. We are dedicated to the education of technically creative young people, and we started building the sites you are visiting because of one belief: genius is spread evenly across the world, but access to knowledge is not. Talent is never the thing that is missing. What is missing, too often, is a good teacher, a working laptop, an expensive kit, or simply someone saying yes, you can learn this, and here is where to begin.
We wanted to give back in a way that matters, and for a company like ours that means the thing we know how to do. Not a slogan and not a donation box, but real tools and real lessons, built with care and put where anyone with a browser can use them, so that a young person with a big idea can get the knowledge to make it real.
What Thesaurica is, and how you use it
Thesaurica is a free curriculum website: complete lesson plans for engineering, computer science and biomedical science, from kindergarten through twelfth grade.
- Browse the courses. The home page groups every course by band (elementary, middle school, high school). Open one to see its units, its lessons and the skills it covers.
- Open a lesson. Each lesson is a single page with tabs for the student view and, for teachers, the plan behind it: activities, materials and assessment.
- Download and teach. Trained educators can download lessons and whole courses as files, including Common Cartridge packages you can import into a learning management system.
Anyone can browse the course catalog and every course page. Educators who request access are emailed a secure, time-limited link that opens the full course outlines and day-by-day plans — no password and no account. Full lessons and their downloads are released to educators who complete our educator training, launching later this year.
Our promise to you
- We will keep building for you. Every lesson, exercise and tool here exists for a young person to learn something they could not do yesterday.
- We will be honest about how it works, including what we collect and why. We never sell personal information, and you can read every policy in plain view under All policies.
- We will listen. If something is confusing, broken or missing, tell us at support@thesaurica.com. A student's complaint is the most useful thing we can receive.
You will make mistakes here, and that is the point. Every engineer whose work you admire has debugged something at midnight that would not behave. Keep going. The world has problems that are waiting for exactly the way you think, and we cannot wait to see what you build.
With admiration, and with hope,
Intelligena LLC
P.S. To the teachers and parents reading over a student’s shoulder: thank you. You are the reason any of this works.
