Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what Intelligena LLC, a California limited liability company does in connection with Thesaurica, which is provided free of charge. It applies to the Service and not to any third-party site or service reached through it.
The short version. Thesaurica has no accounts. If you fill in one of our forms we keep the contact details you give us so we can reply and send you what you asked for, and we keep ordinary web-server logs. We do not sell your personal information, we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, and we run no advertising or third-party analytics trackers. You can ask us for a copy of your details, to correct them, or to delete them, at support@thesaurica.com.
1. Who is responsible
Intelligena LLC, a California limited liability company is the controller (and, under California law, the “business”) for personal information processed through the Service.
2. What we collect, where it comes from, and why
Thesaurica has no user accounts. We collect information in two ways.
| Category | Examples | Source | Why we process it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Contact details you submit | Your name, email address, school or organisation, role, the grades you teach or oversee, your region, and any message you write | You, when you complete a request or sign-up form | Emailing you the link or confirmation you asked for, replying to you, and telling you when educator training opens |
| Access-link records | When an emailed access link was sent to you and when it was first opened | Automatically | Delivering the link and keeping it from being abused |
| Technical and usage data | IP address, browser and operating system, pages requested, date and time, error logs | Automatically | Operating, securing and debugging the Service |
We rely on your request, and our legitimate interest in operating and securing the Service, as the basis for this processing. We use a strictly-necessary session cookie to remember that you opened your access link; we do not use cookies for advertising and we run no third-party analytics.
3. Who we disclose information to
WE DO NOT SELL PERSONAL INFORMATION, AND WE DO NOT SHARE IT FOR CROSS-CONTEXT BEHAVIOURAL ADVERTISING, AS THOSE TERMS ARE DEFINED BY THE CALIFORNIA CONSUMER PRIVACY ACT. WE RUN NO ADVERTISING OR THIRD-PARTY ANALYTICS TRACKERS ON THE SERVICE. WE HAVE NOT SOLD OR SHARED PERSONAL INFORMATION IN THE PRECEDING TWELVE MONTHS, INCLUDING IN RESPECT OF ANY PERSON WE KNOW TO BE UNDER SIXTEEN.
- Hosting, email-delivery and infrastructure providers, solely to serve the pages, deliver the emails you ask for and store the details you submit, under contract restricting them to that purpose.
- Intelligena LLC, a California limited liability company, which operates Thesaurica and keeps your submission in its own administrative systems so its staff can respond to you.
- Legal and safety — where we believe in good faith that disclosure is required by law, subpoena or court order, or is necessary to prevent fraud or protect the rights or safety of any person.
- A successor, in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, subject to this Policy continuing to apply.
4. Automated processing
The Service does not use your details to train any model and makes no automated decision about any individual.
5. How long we keep it
- Contact details you submit: until you ask us to delete them. We also delete them if we learn they were given to us without the address owner’s knowledge.
- Server, security and error logs: kept for a limited period for security and diagnostics and then removed.
Deleted details may persist for a short time in routine encrypted backups before those are overwritten.
6. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the information we hold, including encryption in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot and do not guarantee absolute security. To report a suspected vulnerability, write to support@thesaurica.com.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you or your parent or school may have the right to:
- know what personal information we hold, and how we use and disclose it;
- receive a copy of it, in a portable format;
- correct inaccurate information;
- delete it, subject to exceptions the law allows;
- opt out of sale or sharing — we do neither, so there is nothing to opt out of; and
- not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights.
To exercise a right, write to support@thesaurica.com. Where you are a student, we may ask your school or parent to confirm the request. We will respond within 45 days.
8. Children
The Service is intended for educators and administrators, not for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 and will delete it if we learn we have. If you believe a child has sent us their details, write to support@thesaurica.com.
9. Where data is processed
We are based in the United States of America and process data there. If you use the Service from elsewhere, you understand that information is transferred to and processed in the United States, where data-protection law may differ from that of your own country.
10. Changes to this Policy
We review this Policy at least every twelve months and update it when our practices change. The version and effective date are shown at the top of this page.
11. Contact and complaints
Privacy questions and requests go to support@thesaurica.com. If you are not satisfied with our response you may complain to your data-protection authority or, in California, to the California Privacy Protection Agency or the Attorney General.
